This is the Ciara Sandal from Pour La Victoire. I love them
and would really like a pair, they come in a selection of amazing
colours and look like they would be very comfortable.

Clemence Poesy
This is Clemence Poesy at the Chanel Couture show. I think
she looks amazing. I love a feminine dress with masculine shoes.
I hate wearing heels, I don't feel comfortable looking too
girlie so this is exactly the kind of thing I would chose to wear.

EAT // DRINK // GLASGOW
Glasgow is filled with a wonderful array of places to
eat and drink. I don't think it is lacking in any
particular area.
I can sometimes get lazy and keep going to the same place,
which is easy when I enjoy it so much and it is familiar but
once I actually make an effort to go to other places, I am
reminded of how incredibly fruitful Glasgow is.
I love that we have a good few hearty pubs that embrace the country
we are in. Scottish gins and whiskeys, warm wood throughout, dogs
welcome and sometimes if you're lucky a real coal fire.
There are also a great couple of places that are stripped back,
minimalist and suit any occasion. They are non offensive and
attract a laid back crowd.
I have taken some pictures of some of my favourite places and mentioned
what attracts me.
CRABSHAKK - SEAFOOD / PROSECCO
TABLE ELEVEN - CRABSHAKK FOR PRIVATE PARTIES.
THE 78 - COAL FIRE / VEGAN.
THE BEN NEVIS - SPIRITS / TRADITIONAL.
THE IVY - RUM RUM RUM.
KEMBER AND JONES - SALADS / CAKES.
STRAVAIGAN - COCKTAILS / FISH AND CHIPS.
THE OLD HAIRDRESSERS - SCOTTISH BEER / VERY RELAXED.
THE FINNIESTON - BEAUTIFUL BAR / FISH.

Cafe Oto
While in London I went to Cafe Oto. It is a wonderful Cafe
which I would highly recommend going to. It reminds me
of places in New York that I loved. It is a huge space,
very open and light, filled with a mixture of second hand chairs
and tables on a beautifully polished concrete floor. It is simply
done but very effective.
Cafe Oto is also a music venue that prides itself in putting on
new, experimental music from around the world.
I wasn't lucky enough to see a gig here but I would imagine it
would be a good experience, quite intimate and accessible.
I went to Cafe Oto twice. Once for Coffee and Carrot Cake with my
man and once at night with a big group of friends. Both were excellent.
I love a Cafe/venue that can be appropriate and comfortable
both during the day and at night. It is a hard thing to pull off but
they have done it impeccably.

Street Style
When I look at how people dress, whether it be on other blogs,
magazines or the people around me, I have quite an immediate
reaction, either loving or hating it. The interesting thing is,
there isn't one particular 'look' I go for. I love aspects of lots
of different styles.
I know I definitely love eccentricity, this comes from my
Mum standing out in the playground while picking me up. I remember
seeing other Mums always dressed in dark grey or black suits and high
heels. I knew this meant they worked, meaning they would't be home
if they were needed. Then I would see my Mum, her staples were
either leggings with an oversized shirt and chunky socks with Dr
Martens or a long flowing hippy dress, again with Dr Martens. At that
point my Mum didn't work and I loved knowing she was always around, so
I guess I have good association with standing out in a crowd.
My other big love is for simple Scandinavian style. It is known for it's
minimalistic designs, usually edging on the smart side. I don't usually
do smart but I can definitely appreciate and admire understated, simple
clothing. I absolutely love Cos and shop there regularly and if I could
afford it, Acne would also be visited frequently. I guess with this style
I do associate it with striking, naturally beautiful Scandinavian women.
I kind of think the designers must think, if something is already so
beautiful why spoil it with anything garish or busy? They keep the designs
plain and simple, allowing you to see the beauty of the person wearing the
clothes.
I am glad I don't dress in the same way everyday. I think it would be
pretty boring and a complete waste of some incredible ideas from some
very talented people.

New Shoes
Yesterday I bought these shoes. I love them, I have thought about
getting Brothel Creepers for a while but always been unsure. I prefer
these as they are a little slimmer and less clumpy. I am very excited
to wear them today.

A Clean Slate
Vogue says - 'Skilful layering, proportion play and bold displays
of colour (note the new bi- and tri-colour accessories) bring a
youthful, sporty, spin to classic seperates. In a first look at
Autumn, here's how to dress now'.
It is not often that I take the time to scan images from a magazine
onto my computer. It needs to be something really amazing. I think
this shoot is very special. The model Suvi Koponen is Finnish and
absolutely gorgeous. I like simple beauty, I love women that wear
hardly any make up and just throw their hair up, like in this shoot,
and look incredibly sexy. I find it much more attractive than someone
who is overly preened.
The shoot involves a lot of bold colours, structure and oversized clothing.
I saw a lot of women dressing like this in Stockholm, very simply but
with great attention to detail. I like this sort of style and will
enjoy embracing it in cooler months.

Cos Sale
It is a dangerous time again, Cos have a sale. Cos are
different for other stores, their reductions are actually
significant and their sale is tidy. I want to look through
everything because it is neat and orderly.
Here are a few things I would like. I have tried on the
White blouse and the Blue sleeveless blazer and loved them
so they are likely purchases. I also love the black dress.
I don't own a 'little black dress'. Part of this is because
my Mum hates black, she associates it with hoards of people
going to work in offices everyday and only ever wearing black.
To her, it is boring. I know what she means but sometimes black
is pretty amazing. I associate a black dress like this one with
a date. It is the perfect date dress. I know it would be
comfortable and although it has a little gap on the back, which
I usually hate, I think it is pretty subtle and still very 'Cos'.

Jonathan Saunders
Jonathan Saunders has created something really wonderful
with his Spring/Summer 2013 range. It is so different from
anything else, which is refreshing. It's the reason it jumped
out at me while looking through lots of images from Fashion week.
This range was inspired by Hungarian-French Optical Art pioneer
Victor Vasarely. The prints are geometric and the colours bold.
Also inspiring Saunders was 'The Thin White Duke', David Bowie's
persona for some time in the 70s. David Bowie was very thin, always
wore a tailored, crisp three piece suit and had swept back, blonde hair.
I can tell that the styling of this collection has been influenced greatly
by this character.
